Shipping policy

Brake Lines and Special Orders have their own shipping and return policies.  These policies are detailed below, after regular policies.

Shipping Terms

  • Domestic Transit Time: 2 - 7 days, subject to weather or other unusual circumstances.
  • International Transit Time: 4 - 22 days, varies by courier.  FedEx is usually the fastest and most cost effective.  Questions?  Reach out to us via email or phone.
  • Order Preparation Time: Orders placed before 1 PM Eastern Time are processed the same day.  Synto Levers may require additional handling time, based on supplier availability, of up to two weeks.
  • Expedited Shipping Options:  Expedited shipping is available for some products.  If available, the option will appear at checkout.  Note that carrier pickup can be as early as 1 pm so orders placed after that time may go the following business day.
  • Tracking: You'll receive a tracking link when your order ships, so you can follow its progress.
  • Shipping Days: Our warehouse operates Monday - Friday, excluding national holidays. International orders and orders to AK/HI or US Territories may require extra handling time (around 3 business days).
  • Delivery Time Concerns: Contact us if delivery time exceeds the forecasted time for investigation.
  • Change Of Delivery Address: Address change requests can be made before the order is dispatched, typically less than one hour after order placement during business hours.

Cancellations:  We are proud to say that we process orders received during business hours very quickly after the order is placed.  We have a short window of up to one hour where changes or cancellations can be made. After this period, orders cannot be canceled and must be returned upon receipt.

Shipping Costs

  • Shipping cost is calculated during checkout based on weight, dimensions, and destination.  If additional shipping charges are required, payment is collected at checkout.
  • Some oversized or overweight items may incur additional shipping charges.  These charges will be detailed and paid at checkout.

Stock Availability

We strive to keep our inventory accurate, but sometimes there may be discrepancies. If an item is out of stock, we'll ship the available items and contact you about the back-ordered items with delivery estimates or refund options.

Special Shipping Addresses

  • P.O. Box Shipping: We ship to P.O. box addresses using postal services only.
  • Military Address Shipping: We ship to military addresses using USPS only.
  • International Shipping:  Some products can not be shipped internationally due to restrictions from our suppliers.  All international shipment require a telephone number.  Note that duties and taxes are the responsibility of the buyer.

Packages Damaged or Lost In Transit

  • If possible, reject damaged parcels from the courier and contact customer service.
  • If delivered without your presence, contact customer service for next steps.
  • Most cases will require investigation by the courier before a refund can be processed.  Note sure where to start?  We can help.  Please call or email.
  • For lost parcels, refund or replacement will be processed once the courier deems the parcel lost.

Duties & Taxes

  • Sales Tax: Applied to the price of goods based on the state of origin.
  • Import Duties & Taxes: May be payable upon arrival in the destination country. If refused, goods may be returned at the customer’s expense, and a refund minus return shipping costs will be issued. Initial shipping cost is non-refundable.

Returns – Brake Lines and Special Orders have a different return policy.  See below.

Returns are fully accepted with unopened packaging within 30 days, with the exception of final sale items and items made to order.

Return Postage is paid by buyer.  In all cases, with the exception of defect or fulfillment error, shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer and non-refundable.

Return Authorization is required in order to process your return.   If you wish to return any item purchased from journeymotogear.com please contact us at sales@brakecrafters.com quoting your order number in the subject line of the email. Unless otherwise stated return shipping is the responsibility of the customer.

  • Merchandise must be returned in new, unused condition, contain all the original packaging and all accessories. Approved items will be free of scratches, scuffs, dents or other damage.

Final Sale:  We may from time to time offer final sale markdowns. We cannot accept returns on these items. Where these terms are in effect they will be clearly indicated on our online store. 

BRAKE LINE & SPECIAL ORDER SHIPPING AND RETURNS 

Brake Lines Policies:  Brake Lines are custom made for your motorcycle’s make, model and year, and not produced until an order is placed.  As a result, they have a different shipping policy from our other products.

  • Processing Time:  Brake Lines usually ship 1-3 business days after the order is received, depending on the time the order is placed and the turnaround time from our supplier.
  • Brake Lines will be shipped separately from other items in your order but will not incur additional shipping charges.
  • Custom color brake lines are NOT returnable.

Special Orders Policies:  Special orders are items that we do not normally carry and require a special purchase from our supplier. Policies for these products are:

  • Processing Time:  Special orders will take longer to ship and the timing depends on shipping from our supplier. 
  • Special orders will be shipped separately from other items in your order but will not incur additional shipping charges, as long as the total order meets the minimum for free shipping.

Returns on Brake Lines & Special Orders

  • Return authorization is required in order to process your return. Contact us at sales@brakecrafters.com, stating your order number in the subject line of the email. 
  • We accept returns within 14 days of receipt of your item. 
  • All returns are subject to an inspection once received and will be assessed a 20% restocking fee.
  • Unless otherwise stated return shipping is the responsibility of the customer.
  • In all cases, with the exception of defect or fulfillment error, original shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer and non-refundable.  Refund amount will be less original shipping costs.
